TV presenter Stacey Solomon, who welcomed newest child Belle earlier this month, said she’d rushed out to get her nails done as soon as she could – but followers were quick to call her out
Stacey Solomon may not have washed her hair since giving birth (we can TOTALLY relate!), but the mum of 5 has made sure she’s upholding her self care routine in another way – and updating her fans along the way.
And as all new mums know, it’s just as important to take care of yourself in the aftermath of giving birth as it is your baby.
So when the 33 year old, who gave birth to daughter Belle on 11 February, revealed she’d treated herself to new nails, we could see how much of a difference it made to Stacey, as she shared her joy on Insta.
‘I left Joe with all the kids and literally ran out of the house to get my nails done,’ Stacey joked to fans.
‘Probably should have washed my hair but I’ve been desperate to have nice nails and just drive somewhere. It feels so good.’

However, not all of Stacey’s followers were happy for her.
After the TV presenter, who fronts BBC show Sort Your Life Out, posted the pic to her Insta, she was greeted with one reply in particular that called her nails ‘impractical’.
‘Very impractical nails for a newborn,’ the comment read.
Taking to Insta to share her reaction to the not-so-nice comment, Stacey said:
‘Have a day off Wilma. it’ll be OK I promise.’
The mum of 5 then shared a few reasons why having long nails was great, quipping:
‘They’re great for tickles and head strokes. Belle is loving them.’
‘Will I end up with poo underneath them everyday? Probably’
Stacey then joked how useful they’d be for other essential mum tasks.
‘This one is really good for picking out bogies.
‘Will I end up with poo underneath them everyday?
‘Probably, but I’ve got a nail brush and wash my hands. It’ll be fine.’
Stacey and husband Joe Swash, 41, are parents to Rose, 16 months, and Rex, 3, as well as newborn Belle.
Stacey has two older sons, Zachary, 14, and Leighton, 10, with previous partners, while Joe is also dad to Harry, 15.
Last week, Stacey shared the cutest video of Rose meeting her little sister, writing alongside the post:

‘More than my heart could have ever imagined 😭 My whole heart aches for them and the adventures that are to come 🥹.’
Stacey and Joe announced Belle’s arrival earlier this month, with a few snaps of their daily life in the aftermath of the newborn’s birth.
Stacey wrote:
‘🤍 She’s Here 🤍🥲😭 Our beautiful, daughter born at home with all of your brothers and sister ready to snuggle you forever and ever. You literally flew into our world 😂… And none of us can quite believe your thick dark head of hair that we just can’t get over. We can’t believe your here 🥹 Welcome to the world beautiful girl, thank you for the last few months in my tummy, we can’t wait to love you forever and ever we are so grateful we get to be your family 🥹’
